What is Pitta Dosha ?

Every one ask's "What is Pitta Dosha?" The Pitta dosha is characterized as the energy of digestion and metabolism. It represents the fire element in the body that helps in digestion and other metabolic activities. The dominated area of pitta is the digestive system of the body. It involves the action of enzymes and ability to think by regulation of neurotransmitter. Pitta resides in the intestine, stomach, sweat glands, blood, eyes, and skin of the body. The function of pitta is identified by the regulation of digestion, assimilation, absorption, nutrition, metabolism, body temperature, skin coloration, eye luster, intelligence, and understanding. It helps you to grasp the things and differentiate between good and bad.

The pitta people have well built physique with medium height. They have yellowish, reddish or fair complexion and the skin is soft, shiny and warm. The face is heart shaped and the nails are generally soft. Any imbalance in pitta leads to problems like anger, criticism, negative emotions, acidity, mouth ulcers, heart problems, skin rashes and hair loss. The vitiation in pitta can lead to many health problems. Some of them are skin rashes, inflammations of the skin, sunburns, acne, boils, skin cancer, and burning eyes, hair loss, premature graying of hair and baldness.

The psychological effects of pitta includes good metabolic activities, good digestive fire and strong appetites. Food with sweet, bitter and astringent tastes are much liked by the pitta people. They usually take a medium sleep and remain fresh throughout the day. The body of these people remain warm due to high body temperature and they produce a large volume of urine and the feces.

The positive aspects of pitta includes good memory and understanding. They are more goal oriented, focused and leader by nature. They are desirous for name and fame in society. In contrast to that the negative aspects includes the aggressive, irritating and orthodox nature. They are impatent in nature and gets angry very easily.

Complications of Pitta Imbalance

A sound balance in pitta in the body is indicated by high energy, proper digestion, intelligence, boldness, smartness and good decision making capability whereas any imbalance in pitta can lead to acidity, diarrhea, food allergies, insomnia, fevers, inflammatory diseases, heart problems, skin problems, jaundice, acidity, mouth ulcers, skin rashes, digestive disorders, hair loss, bad body odor , skin rashes, boils , acne, ulcers, weakness, fever and eye problems.

Measures to balance Pitta

Pitta is responsible for promoting intelligence and understanding in an individual. It is very essential to maintain a balance in the ratio of pitta dosha in order to live a moderate life. By keeping certain things in mind you can easily balance pitta in your body.

  • Avoid eating excessive hot, oily, steamy and salty foods.
  • Food with sweet, bitter, and astringent taste is highly recommended.
  • Practice meditation daily to avoid negative thoughts.
  • Avoid the consumption of alcohol and fermented food.
  • Avoid overeating.
  • Use of cool and calm color is recommended for pitta people.

It is very important to make a balance in the pitta dosha in the body in order to remain healthy. A balance in pitta dosha brings intelligence and understanding to you and helps to maintain the proper functioning of various metabolism of the body.

Hi Avinash , This seems to be a pitta imbalance afflication.I recall having the exact same troubling problem you described and how allopathy treatment simply did NOT help it and the child had to suffer many days. Please refer ayurvedic doctor as soon as possible.Ayurvedic medicine helped solve it within 3 days. In our case, was prescribed medicine " Katukarohini Kashayam" 3 times a day by the vaidya along with food restriction like no eggs, no pickle and no oily/hot food for a week. Do not delay. I suffered from an agnina every year, and my physician recommended me to take an esential oil of a tea tree, that has an anti-microbal effect. It really works, the last tonsillitis was five years ago.

My daughter is suffering from the problem of heaving etching due to wide red patches over the whole body,. on he very first day when she came from the practice of her school annual function in evening her whole body was eching, wide and thic paches came over her bodywhich were eitching heavly, she also omitted 2-3 times,
We gave alopathic treatment ,thereis releif of 20%, but the etching and red patches are still comming, due to etching she cant sleep and get exert too much.

i am having extreme etching on all over the body with red ear and skin and it get heated. i take 1AL tablet for this and it effect remains for two days. again same is repeated after two days.again tablet it is continued for an year. is there any Ayurveda treatment available to completely remove this problem.
